Background

Shanghai Astronomy Museum is a planetarium creating an immersive experience that places visitors in direct engagement with real astronomical phenomena. The app I designed for the museum serves as a link between the indoor interface and exhibition visitors, providing guidance and facilitating engagement.

Brief

Our museum app is the perfect companion for your visit. With our state-of-the-art AR technology, you can explore our exhibits in a new way and get up close to the art. Our interactive map will guide you through the museum, helping you find your way around with ease. Our app also includes a comprehensive guide to the museum, providing you with all the information you need to make the most of your visit.
The main features of the entire venue are as below:
  •  Large site area( 38,000 square meters) and complicated route.
  •  High volume of visitors (around 3000 visitors per day)
  •  Intensive immersive program in the museum
  •  A large amount of knowledge and science information.

Chaos caused by a large flow of people, a large venue area, and rich exhibits.
Damage to props caused by novel exhibits and cutting-edge technology.

Therefore, we use the mobile phone as an intermediary and add AR technology to the app we designed, which can not only broaden the exhibition's knowledge, and extend the exhibition's interaction, but also help visitors to experience the exhibition in an orderly manner.
